monday 1 – get up with the first alarm at 4.15am and turn off the other alarms, as I’d set watch, phone and alarm clock just to make sure I woke up and didn’t miss the flight

finishing off at work, took buses to terminal 5, good flight, then drive over to bright street

thursday 4 – resting and clearing rubbish at bright street

friday 5 – working from duckett street, gas safety check being carried out, fish and chips for lunch

saturday 6 – clearing garden of weeds, some of rough topsoil, then planting a few plants from morissons, bedding in with compost as follows, starting in the corner near the gate:
2 celosia caracas “deep purple” along the wall – should go to 45cm, plenty of light but not direct sunlight
gooseberry in the corner, 1m height, 1.5m spread, ok in partial shade
emerald gaiety in middle of large corner area, 60cm height, 1.2m spread
then along the long strip, mix of red hot poker which like it sunny to height 1-2m and yellow fragrant stocks to height 40cm.

sunday 7 – get up and do some filing at clitheroe, getting printer on and letters etc.
then over to pack up last things from skipton, then to see mum, take her outside for a while, have tea with her
travel to clitheroe to stay overnight

monday 8 – meal in the evening at the hotel restaurant, madhu, nice indian with a kenyan twist it said

tuesday 9 – meal at pheasant in the evening

wednesday 10 – meal at pub in twickenham in the evening, pub quiz going on

thursday 11 – got up again an hour early, checked out of the hotel and stayed with john

friday 12
talking with kats about how to get john organised:

other mail – box
newspapers – box

have meal with john at the royal oak in centre of harrow in the evening, 2x “codfather” meals, although the fish portions were a little down-sized

saturday 13 – jasmine gave good suggestion for just getting on with it and tidying it up and getting on with it; if he takes it on and takes it up all well and well.
then chic’s quote was priceless in the circumstances:

we have a meal in at john’s flat, falafel salad

sunday 14 – focus in the morning on cleaning and re-organising the kitchen, then scrubbing the floor.
go with john to library when he gets back to research some investment options then go into the harrow pub for internet access and drinks

monday 15 – meal at white hart harlington in the evening, eating outside in the beer garden

tuesday 16 – checked back into sheraton hotel
meal at pheasant in the evening, pleasant and sat outside

wednesday 17 – convergence testing day!

friday 19 – final day and some time to try out last minute stuff, before dismantling everything after lunch of lasagne

kash drove me near enough so that i could get the h11 local bus for 10 minutes into harrow

saturday 20 – go to library to research further on investments

sunday 21 – up at 3.30am to watch marmite leaving to go out through the cat flap as i grab some breakfast, shower and set off
bus set off at 4.08 to heathrow, then took express to t5, checked in in good time

they’ve introduced epassport gates at munich airport, makes it faster, you have to leave the passport on for 3 checks and then it works!

thursday 25 – sabs tells me Dad, I’ll give you a piece of advice: “Do what you want to do”, so I digress about Eddie and the Hot Rods “Do anything you wanna do” and The Who songs in a similar vein, My Generation.

friday 26 – eve back from sports week and she’s had a few scrapes due to falling of a “roller” coming down a light slope of a hill, taking her concentration off for a moment and then landing on the floor.
she’d had a good week and said her favourite activity was hiking!

first pizza at home for a few weeks

saturday 27 – make the evening meal, a paella without the chicken and using fresh peas from the pod, using the pods to flavour the stock which goes in the pan, tasted good; afterwards topfenquark / yoghurt with himbeeren and brombeeren

sunday 28 – 10k stadtlauf, 55:50, not fantastic, fell away towards the end, was going quite strong to 5km at around 25:40
made gooseberry pudding and custard to follow katie’s tea
