saturday 1 – went for easy run with katie around west park about 2km, felt good in upper body after the recent physio work to strengthen the back
get rest of c-mas letters printed and address labels done, ready for onslaught to get it out the way
still mulling over what was learned these last few days

go up to olympiapark to meet up with peter, jens, werner etc who are doing the winterlaufseries, it looks a good event, i cycled up, then got very cold and lost on the way back, ending up taking the u-bahn since i came out at leopoldstr. further up from universität

we have meal at home

sunday 2 – jenny takes us thru the nativity in sunday school, seems to go off very well, i just look after the music, then afterwards test the mic’s and have a guitar lesson with franciska
get back and carry on with jobs

monday 3 – go for 3rd physio session then work at home, get planning for next set of trips worked out
preparing for katie’s birthday, luckily she is going to a family lab seminar that evening

tuesday 4 – get up at 5.30 to set b/fast table and we sing happy birthday to katie after she has scuppered our plans and got up washing and changing
walk with saby to u-bahn station, risking life and limb as we cross over hansastr. we really need to go the other, safer way!
take train to ulm for work

then the usual Christmas rush and panic sets in – no time to blog about it!

saturday 22 – sabs celebrates birthday with irene, lisa, foriwaa and lilly, they all stay overnight and we disappear out of the way as long as possible

sunday 23 – stayed overnight in motel one at sendlinger tor to use up a voucher – was great fun – 2 rooms overlooking frauenkirche both free and with breakfast

we go out and look round the c+mas markets, incl the medieval one at brienner str. and have some drinks and breze at ayingerbrau, having been moved off another table since not eating full meal

monday 24 – get veg and turkey from viktuellienmarkt and vinzenzmur respectively before checking out and relaxing at home, prior to going back for c+mas service which was packed

tuesday 25 – enjoy c+mas at home, massive turkey to wade through and katie and i feel ill afterwards, since not used to eating so much meat/rich food i supppose

wednesday 26 – eat second turkey, junking most of the difficult to get at meat, then travel leisurely to airport for flight to blighty

thursday 27, skipton – up late, some preparation for the party tomorrow – then go out with mates for beers – red lion, woolly sheep, devonshire and cock+bottle prior to bizzie lizzie for fishcake – good night but drunk way too much for me

friday 28, skipton – very ill most of day until forcing myself to get up at 1.30pm then slowly getting in shape ready for party
reasonable turnout, too many pies left at end, spon, pete, steve turned up, no rachel due to alternator problems but pam+simon plus imogen turned up which was nice, plus good turnout from family incl peter self, david anne, martin+laura

saturday 29, skipton and clitheroe – went over to clitheroe, went to look at #11 bright street then swales for lunch then jakc+mabel’s then to Pam+simons, went to lower buck for meal in the evening whcih was as ever great, posh fish pie – scallops and muscles – really good

sunday 30, skipton – rainy day as ever, took mum to evensong at holy trinity at top of town which she seemed to enjoy then had snack in red lion – the burger platter was good value at 6 smallish burgers for 8 quid

monday 31, skipton, chatburn and clitheroe – had game of 10 pin bowls at matrix in skipton – pretty steep prices – saby played well and katie was top scorer!
went to rachel’s for new year’s eve party after popping in on mabel+jack at manor house.
