wednesday 1 – day off but relaxing rather than painting today!

thursday 2 – working at home

eve goes out to practice basketball with hanna again

friday 3 – again at home, taking the easy option

saturday 4 – finish off rest of decorating

sunday 5 – get a load of bread at the baker’s and have to remember to pay back the 20c which the assistant let me off on, since I’d only taken a 10€ note on my run to drop by there

taking part in service which was interesting/challenging

overhear eve’s music which is getting very 70s/80s – bee gees and queen featuring

monday 6 – katie in uk, so am making supper, which just involves warming up chilli in a pan
girls hang around to do school work at the meal table and sing songs harmonising together

tuesday 7 – work at home again and do a pasta tea which eve and i share, she is busy preparing her referat about news items for english and there has been a lot around the harassment allegations going around westminster and now spreading to the bbc, also she was covering the attacks in new york and another shooting in the US

wednesday 8 – breakfast with sabs and she is of course, delighted to have handed in her W-seminar work, which amazingly, perhaps 2 days later has now printed out on the hp printer
anyways she sang ‘hey jude’ impromptu and it was lovely that she felt comfortable doing this, what a wonderful girl she has become

sabs came back late after going into west park and helps build up eve’s confidence with the referat she has to hold

thursday 9 – talking with sabs at breakfast starting off about the best tea which i tasted as a paperboy helping miff all those years ago then we got onto: concerts, she liked the wombats one we went to, how problems are solved, often by groups of people, eg. like yesterday at gbr which involved 3 of us discussing it and how often you sometimes need to get it wrong before you get it right

friday 10 – good band practice with graham, katie and i just going over and over through two hands and man gave names, worked out well

saturday 11 – went to kathy and graham’s for evening meal

sunday 12 – taking older ones and talking about fears and that it’s ok to try and not always succeed

wednesday 15 – talking with katie over breakfast about trips she wants to do next year to prague, budapest, rome, perhaps even berlin, now it 4 hours away by train

friday 17 – long day struggling to get anything done
jaime’s last day as manager and i get last 1 to 1 with him

2nd practice in evening with isata and jessica, then beers in motel one as eve with graham

in the end it worked better to set up as new, then wipe the old ipad, reinstall from backup then remove apps which are no longer needed – both are working well

monday 20 – chatting with kats about the film best exotic marigold hotel which i saw bit of yesterday evening since strictly was playing up, we recalled the most interesting aspects of what it teaches us about life, first 2 are said by judi dench, the final one by maggie smith:
– that there is no failure if one wants to do something, only a failure to try
– that life is all about how one responds to disappointments, since there will always be some, things don’t always work out how we want them
– that although things never work out how they should, different or even new opportunities arise because of this – it is what happens instead which is the good stuff – ie. the offering of chances for renewal and growth, and accepting what life throws up for you

go for run, then late start at work after long chat with john and sorting out some finances for him, since his current account is bouncing up and down zero most of the month, so arranged for 2 more regular transfer, which should ease things

tuesday 21 – go to office and have lunch with valerio and dan, eat a wonderful chestnut risotto for lunch

wednesday 22 – guitar lesson at volkshochsule, it went ok

friday 24 – practice in church and with the gear, then go for beer with graham at the motel one

sunday 26 – playing in church and the final song went quite well when looking back at klaus’ recording

tuesday 28, dresden – two day trip to dresden to look at the sachsen network run by t-systems
meal at sophienkeller after walk around some of the sights

wednesday 29, dresden – feedback morning on our pitch, seemed to go quite well

thursday 30 – fly to manchester and make swan and royal for supper, cheese and onion pie tasted very rich and not feeling too good afterwards
