friday 1 – temperature has dropped considerably during the week

finished early and went to see kenneth branagh’s film “belfast” at the museum lichtspiele cinema at rosenheimerpl. first warming up with a hot coffee at the cafe opposite, looking like a typical south england pub on a bridge from the outside

interesting fim about growing up during the troubles with superb framing and cinematography, some excellent music from van morrison and a rousing northern soul classic in “everlasting love” and of course fabulous acting and one-liners

went to warm up afterwards by having a meal at the maily chinese restaurant on the tal, pretty good food in nice atmosphere for 2-4 people max
maily-tal.de

had earlier tried the vegelano (too posh, 2 course meal €22 but worth considering for special occasion) and the pub on the corner going to vegelano which was a small, intimate augustiner bierkeller – would be good for the uk guys

saturday 2 – just john and i in the zoom call
watched “shakespeare in love” about romeo and juliet with gwynneth paltrow, to complete a judi dench weekend!

sunday 3 – practising for singing in choir

tuesday 5 – familie flöz – we were right at the front and had many good scenes and interesting obversations on the dramatization “dr nest”.

wednesday 13 – Cassia concert in the evening at ampere with katie, was really good backed by Luke Noa, guitarist who was also good.
Cassia are just a three piece with lead singer also the lead guitarist mainly on a gibson F-guitar and his technique was exemplary, thorsten would have approved – you never saw the supporting thumb it was so well hidden behind, when he swapped to a gibson washburn-like guitar for some picking, he used a very simple pattern but effective, then his thumb was visible a bit.

luke noa as support was also good and knew how to warm-up, copying the mandatory singalong vibe of whoay-ups and then slowing it down at the end with a ballad.

thursday 14 – had nice long chat with Paul and recommended:

friday 15 – sending link to evie on bees in the city:
stadtbienen.org
and why honey is so healthy due to the anti-oxidants it contains

continuing the theme of skirting around shakespeare and not starting with the plays, we watched the play about his last few years after the fire at the globe and him going back to stratford and grieving over his son hamnett with some beautiful music by patrick doyle and “fear no more” sung by abigail doyle

tuesday 19, uk – in the uk for a week taking the easyjet flight

friday 29 – watch “On the basis of sex” – the story of a young Ruth Bader Ginsburg – then a struggling attorney and new mother – who faces adversity and numerous obstacles in her fight for equal rights throughout her career.
Bit corny at times, but interesting documentary style just following the one case.

sunday 31 – This is more upbeat on western heavier defensive arms shipments, and discusses the challenges ahead like logistics, intelligence, fuel and mud:
